The Abel Mengistab Memorial Foundation is an organization thought out to actively perpetuate Abel Mengistab’s legacy. His dedication to advocating for social justice and volunteerism has helped build, educate and support his community along with everyone who knew him. The Abel Mengistab Memorial Foundation is set out to support and advocate for social justice through a series of causes that held a special place in Abel’s heart.

Abel Mengistab. This is the name of a loving, bright, and inspirational 20-year-old that we lost Thursday, June 18th, 2020. Anyone who knew Abel would confirm that describing Abel in three words is nearly impossible, as these three words are only the beginning of how incredible he was.

Abel made his mark as a loving son, a supportive friend to many, an excellent student, a dedicated volunteer, an outstanding role model, and so much more that we had yet to discover. No matter if you were older or younger than Abel, he most definitely played a role model figure in your life. Abel was beyond his time, with deep-rooted interests ranging from politics, to social justice, to the arts; Abel truly did it all. He was and will continue to be a role model and inspiration for us all. As we live on, we will make sure that Abel’s legacy continues to live on with all that we do.

“This is God’s Land. Let’s share in peace.”

— Abel Mengistab
